Meet Ms. Sharp

 

 

Hello WMS Students and Families,

My name is Laura Sharp, and I’m so excited to join the Wolfpack team as a School Counselor at Woodland Middle School this year!  I’m thrilled to be part of this wonderful community and to have the opportunity to support our students as they grow academically, socially, and emotionally during their important middle school years!

As your school counselor, my goal is to make sure every student feels safe, supported, and successful. I’m here to help with things like setting goals, solving problems, developing friendships, managing stress, and planning for the future. I meet with students individually, in small groups, and in classroom lessons to help them build skills and confidence both in and out of school.  My approach to counseling is to be proactive and intentional vs. being reactive.  

A little about me — This is my 7th year as a school counselor!  I have worked in various school settings over the years as my family traveled with my husband’s former Army career.  I have five children, three dogs, and an amazing husband!  Outside of school, I enjoy reading, exercising, playing pickleball, and spending time with my friends and family!
